Hans van Slooten joins Holland Casino as new Director of Operations

Holland Casino, a Dutch state-owned company with a legal monopoly on gambling in the Netherlands, has appointed a new Director of Operations. The company has selected Hans van Slooten, who has been an integral part of the organisation for the past three years, serving as the Regional Casino Manager.

Van Slooten will be taking over the position from the current director, No?l Leise, starting 1 October. Leise, who has contributed over 39 years of service to Holland Casino, expressed his confidence in his successor, stating, “When you have worked for a great company like ours for almost 40 years, it is difficult to choose the right moment to pass the baton. I have every confidence that Hans will fill the role of Director of Operations very well in his own way, and I wish him every success with that.”

Van Slooten, expressed gratitude for his new role. He said, “It is a great honour to succeed No?l. I have great respect for his wonderful career, his commitment, and inexhaustible drive for our beautiful company. Although it will not always be easy to follow in his footsteps, I will take on my responsibilities with dedication.”

Hans van Slooten has a wealth of experience within and outside Holland Casino. Currently, he serves as the North-East Regional Casino Manager at Holland Casino. His professional journey includes notable positions as a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines consultant, Program Manager for Sligro Food Group, Change Leader for FrieslandCampina, and Director of Staff at Meerscholen.

Petra de Ruiter, CEO of Holland Casino, commended the internal promotion, stating, “With Hans, we have found a worthy internal successor to No?l as director of operations. Hans has a lot of experience both inside and outside Holland Casino. His strength is that he is close to the people, both our guests and our employees.”

Despite stepping down as the Director of Operations, No?l Leise is firmly committed to continuing his journey with Holland Casino until 1 July 2025, overseeing and driving forward ongoing strategic projects within the company.

Holland Casino operates 14 casinos across the Netherlands, and its profits directly contribute to the Dutch treasury. The company’s decision to appoint an internal candidate to a key leadership position demonstrates its commitment to nurturing home-grown talent.
