Paradise Co praises local expats for the increase in casino sales for October which amounted to KRW22.36 billion

Paradise Co, the South Korean foreign-only casino operator, recorded casino sales of KRW22.36 billion in October. This is an increase of 9% from September but still a decrease of 72.2% for the same period in 2019.?Local expats are credited for this rise due to border closures around the world.?

The pandemic continued?to have a negative impact on casinos?in South Korea, due to global border closures,?with table games recording sales of KRW20.41 billion ($18 million) – a downfall of 73.4% – while slot machines were down 50.4% amounting to KRW1.80billion ($1.6 million).??

Although casino sales increased in October when compared to?September, table drop actually fell by 7.7% to KRW125.54 billion ($110.6million) which indicates that good luck played a massive part in?providing?this reported increase.?

Paradise City, the company’s integrated resort project in Incheon, also?shut down?in early September after staff members tested positive?for?COVID-19, although the casino and some non-gaming amenities were?open again within days.?

Through the first 10 months of 2020, Paradise Co’s casino sales are down 56.3% to KRW283.30 billion (US$249.7 million).?
